Ferozsons Laboratories launched the “Stop Diabetes Campaign”  across Pakistan with the aim of controlling the spread of the disease. They aim to raise awareness among the masses about a healthy lifestyle. The Pakistan Endocrine Society (PES), the Diabetic Association of Pakistan (DAP), and the Baqai Institute of Diabetology & Endocrinology (BIDE) collaborated with Ferozsons Laboratories Limited to launch a nationwide initiative. The initiative involved lighting up four iconic monuments – Delhi Gate, Faisal Mosque, Frere Hall, and Peshawar Museum – with blue lights on the 14th of November, which is recognized as “World Diabetes Day.”

Preventing and managing diabetes necessitates a comprehensive approach that encompasses lifestyle modifications, education, and community involvement.

Preventing diabetes also demands a multifaceted strategy that entails individuals, communities, healthcare professionals, and policymakers cooperating. In order to STOP Diabetes in Pakistan and other regions, it is imperative to address lifestyle factors, raise awareness, and create supportive environments.

According to a recent survey, 13.6 million people are at an increased risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes is characterized by impaired insulin release or insulin resistance, which is why blood glucose levels continue to rise. The onset is typically slow, and symptoms become more prominent after age 40.
